Understanding Rwanda's Tax System
How PAYE Works in Rwanda
Rwanda uses a progressive PAYE system administered by the Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA). The first RWF 30,000 per month is tax-free, with 20% on RWF 30,001–100,000 and 30% on income above RWF 100,000.
RSSB Contributions
The Rwanda Social Security Board manages pension (6% employee + 6% employer), medical (0.5% + 0.5%), and maternity leave (0.3% + 0.3%) contributions.
